In the Spring of 2019, ClujShorts is coming back for its 7th Edition and it’s welcoming directors and film lovers from all around the world. With a full week of screenings and events, including Q&As, workshops and networking receptions, ClujShorts will bring a more youthful and vibrant vibe to the city’s well established cinematographic scene.

Excerpt from RULES AND REGULATIONS

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS for ClujShorts 2019

• Films must have been completed after JANUARY 1, 2017 for entering the competition
• All non-English films must have English subtitles.
• All films must be submitted via online screener.
• Works-in-progress will be considered, provided they will be completed prior to the festival.
• Please do NOT send stills or press kits.  If your film is selected, we will ask you to email us a still image at that time.
• You may enter more than one film, but you must complete a separate entry form and pay entry fee for each film.

• Films previously submitted to ClujShorts International Short Film Festival are NOT eligible.
• Running time should be under 20 minutes for entering the competition. Longer short films are accepted as part of the official selection, but not longer than 35 minutes

• Film selection for the Festival will be made by our screening committee.

An exceptional short-film, full of tension and surprises, great cinematography and a perfectly folded editing on the film’s subject and script. A film in which viewers are caught in a cat and mouse game, being forced to put their certainties into question.

This film has a perfectly sophisticated script, with a scientist dosing of narrative tension, with brilliant replicas and an overturning situation that is very entertaining for the audience.

For exceptional graphic quality and the use of intense, saturated colors, strongly contrasting with each other, but creating chromatic harmonies that are in line with the story’s bizarrerie.

For clarity and sophistication in treating sounds, for the extraordinary intelligence of using intra-dietic sound, but also, most importantly, for how the sound emphasizes or contradicts the affective states of the characters.
